MECHANICAL ANIMALS

This morning I watched the crowd rushing to work. What a commotion.

How cold and empty everyone is. Everyone in the train seemed so..... two-dimensional. Just like the sketches I draw in my drawing pad.

What is this depressing feeling inside me?

Got off the train immersed in my depressing thoughts. If I had a cigarette, I would have smoked it right now even though I don't smoke.

Look at the office workers in their monkey suits. Look at the working mothers rushing their children to the nurseries. Look at the lawyers dragging their trolley bags with them...

How distressing this community is!

Everyday people commit themselves to the same routine again and again, like mechanical animals.

Are humans merely a race programmed to live, work, learn and die conforming to the society's certain rules of law and religion? Did God actually create humans to be paternalists? What about the liberalists, utilitarianists, etc. - are these kind of humans considered as outcasts in the eyes of the so-called 'normal' paternalistic society? Which human category do I belong to?

Has each one of us been programmed to grow up, to get sick, to get a job, to fall in love, to get married, to have children, to grow old and then to die?

The world is spinning, and yet we are not changing.

I don't want to be just another digit of humanity in this universe. In fact, I don't think I want to be human at all.
