ASIARI AFTERNOON DRAMA

Gee complains I work too much and insists that I should spend some quality time with her. My brain is drained, and so is my pocket. Maybe I do need a break.

So it's a lunch date at Asiari Restaurant. Nice place. The seedy lighting makes you feel sleepy. The waitress seems familiar too. Wait a minute, why does she keep staring at me?

The waitress darted straight to our table and exclaimed: "I know you, you're Amel Hanan right?"

Whoa, how did I get so famous?

Doki~doki! (Gulp!)

I shrugged. I could feel Gee's eyes fixed on me. Ouch.

When Gee starts looking at me like this,
it means I'm really in trouble.

The waitress continued excitedly: "I'm from the third year batch, I always see you around the school."

Oh, another student from the law school. She looks kind of cute in that waitress outfit.....

"Of course you see me around, I am a student too... err," I looked at the waitress' name tag "...Jess."

Dammit, how come people always know my name when I don't know theirs?

"But you've been gone away for four months, right? I heard that from the lecturers," Jess said. My notorious reputation surpasses me. I had a pretty good idea which lecturers she was talking about.

"Three and a half. And don't listen to lecturers unless they give you law lectures."

"Where were you during that time?"
"Military. Classified."
"Really?"
"Classified."

Gee took the menu from Jess' hands and flipped through hastily. "I'm hungry, do you have a lunch set that's student affordable?"

After Jess introduced the lunch sets they have to Gee, I asked: "What else did the lecturers say about me?"

But Jess only shook her head and blushed before making her way into the kitchen. Damn, I knew it.

Gee narrowed her eyes. "Military?"

I told Gee she should have known better not to trust lawyers.
