HAPPY MALAYSIANS

What's up people, what's new?

Hey, seems everyone is * happy happy happy * today...

SPM result is out! The 2008 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)results announced today saw 6,277 students scoring straight A's in all subjects compared with 5,060 in 2007. I'm impressed with the increasing number of high-achievers this year (have the questions got easier or what? Just kidding). And most of the students answered both Math and Science subjects in English (you hear that, GMP punks?! PPSMI still rules!). Great work, guys!

Congratulations to all of you who received your SPM results today. Shoot for the stars; aim high for your dreams.

Even the adults seem happy today, too. With RM60 billion being released in the second stimulus package, who could resist grinning widely in amazement? My Big Sis Nur sputtered her coffee when the Deputy Prime Minister cum Finance Minister Dato' Seri Najib Razak announced the sum in the mini-budget.

The Opposition parties were also amazed with the tabled sum; in fact, very amazed that they became speechless. The only thing that the Opposition hoped is that the money would come to their ruling territories without any hitch whatsoever. I think both sides are happy with the stimulus package. Someone in the Parliament had his "R"s rolling long and hard when he tried to comment on the mini-budget. He sounded like a happy Persian cat.

Hm, wonder if the RM60 billion sum can help us withstand the economic downturn for the next 3 years? I hope Malaysia maintains her financial endurance within that period. It's a relief to see that we didn't plunge down as terribly as we did in 1997. But the continuous drop in the stock market around the world makes me worried somehow.

A happy case result is also making its debut today. The MACC has confirmed that Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan were not involved with any form of corruption and abuse of power in that infamous 'black eye' incident as alleged by Anwar Ibrahim.

What a fine fine fine day.

My beautiful sparkling bubbly...
perfect for the occassion.

I have my non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice with me right now to celebrate this happy day. Come, drink with me if you arrive at this post (which I doubt you have, since this is a very stupid and uninteresting blog. Now where's that glass? Oh well, Stefan's Power Ranger tumbler would do just as well). A toast to our brilliant SPM students, to the RM60 billion mini-budget, and to the AG and IGP!

"HAPPY PEOPLE" BY SKOOP ON SOMEBODY is playing in my mind today.
