HAIRCUT BLUES - PART 1

I am going to do something extraordinary today - I'm finally getting myself a haircut. After years of taking care of my beautiful mane, I am forced to sacrifice my locks by a fussy old hag at the campus. Amel Hanan bows to the opponent with respect. And contempt.

Problem 1#: how short should I cut my hair?

Problem 2#: which haircut should I pick?

Problem 3#: barber or hairdresser?

For your information, my hair right now looks pretty much like this:

"How about a short emo style?" Gee suggested, "It kind of suits you since your hair is naturally deep black."

Yes, it is naturally deep black. In fact, it is so deep black that it absorbs light and sends it to another dimension. No kidding.

So here's a pic of the emo hairstyle that Gee thinks I should have:

"Looks cool, Gee... but how am I supposed to see with all those bangs covering my eyes?" I asked Gee. Kinda reminds me of that vocalist from the band Hujan, Noh, whose haircut not only gives him style but also acts as shades.

Gee said I could gel up my bangs like this:

Great, then I can show it to Pn. Nori and give her a heart attack. Not a bad idea. Besides that, I can always participate in cosplay events by going as Phoenix Wright.

Meanwhile, Big Sis Nur has a different hairstyle for me in her mind. "Crop it into a crew cut. It's simple and easy. You won't need to use a lot of shampoo too."

Sure... just so you can hog the shampoo all to yourself, Sis. No way I'm gonna get this haircut. It's so OUT of my book.

Princess Fatin tried being helpful by recommending me the anime look. "Uncle Amel, you'll look really cool in this haircut!" The 13-year old exclaimed in her usual perky self. You just can't object to that cute smiling face. But her crush on Bleach's Byakuya character worries me.

"But, Princess Baby... I want to cut my hair short. Byakuya's hair is long."

The tweenie anime fan girl wrinkled up her button nose. I am used to that look. She hates it when I call her Princess Baby. "Short... like this?"

Somehow, I begin to realize why she had asked me what yaoi means the other day. But what freaks me out about this character is that he's wearing glasses and an earring on the left ear like me. Is that why people keep thinking I'm...?

Mama likes the samurai hairstyle:

Scratch that. She must have been raised watching too much Akira Kurosawa films. Maybe I should ask the men about the perfect hairstyle. Only guys know what's best for guys, right? Wrong.

Stefan says:

While Dad prefers:

I am going crazy. That's it, I'll just walk up to the hairdresser and let him or her decide what hairstyle I should have. That will make my life much easier.

"METAL VS. DUGEM" BY PROJECT POP is playing in my mind today.
