What's up, punks? So many things have been happening in Malaysian politics last week.
Yawn, I'm too lazy to write about them. The oncoming final exams preparation is draining my brain. Never mind, here is a brief summary of what had happened:
1st of April 2009:

I had a peek at the by-election scene in Bukit Gantang. Don't ask me how and why I got there; that's trade secret. Apart from the prawn noodles, laksa and "kari ikan sembilang", and millions of flags, banners and posters of smiling candidates concealing the whole town (Nizar Jamaluddin's poses showed that he has bigger wardrobe collection than Ismail Safian), there is nothing alive in Bukit Gantang. The place is practically a ghost town. All of the BN branch centres I dropped by were empty; unlike those belonging to PAS where the supporters always thronged for the latest gossips and speeches. There are so many weaknesses in BN's campaign this time around. A Chinese guy (I think he's a journalist) at the prawn noodle shop where I stopped by next claimed that the prawn noodles are the best in the country. Sorry to break your bubble, man but I've had way better than that rubbish you ate.
2nd of April 2009:

Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is receiving the title 'Tun' from the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. But shouldn't Datin Seri Jean Abdullah's title be 'Toh Puan' instead of 'Tun'?
3rd of April 2009:

Dato' Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak is appointed as the sixth Prime Minister, replacing Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. I feel very proud; the new Prime Minister of Malaysia comes from the same school I went to i.e., St. John's Institution. Sadly, some fanatic Anwar Ibrahim supporters refuse to acknowledge Najib as the new Prime Minister, alleging that he is "a murderer". Ironically, they want someone who was convicted of corruption and sodomy to become their Prime Minister instead.
6th of April 2009:
Dr. M returns - former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir makes a comeback into UMNO and now he's giving a speech at Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau calling for people to vote for Barisan Nasional. I can't help putting a vid of Dr. M's speech in here - it's really funny watching the old man giving his speech in his trademark bush-jacket and the way the crowd cheered for him. Like he's becoming the Prime Minister again. Undying charisma? Possibly.
8th of April 2009:
'Bukit' means hill and 'Batang' means rod or pole, so you can imagine the dirty jokes these Malaysians think of during the by-elections period in Bukit Gantang, Bukit Selambau and Batang Ai. My innocent young mind has been corrupted by these politically incorrect folks. Anyway, the by-elections results are as follows:-
Pas’ Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin wins Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat with 2789-vote majority. He received 21,860 votes against Barisan Nasisonal’s Ismail Saffian’s 19,071 votes. Independent Kamarul Ramizu Idris lost his RM5,000 deposit when he could only manage 62 votes.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat retained the Bukit Selambau state seat with a slightly increased majority of 2,403 votes.

Barisan Nasional candidate Malcolm Mussen Lamoh won the Batang Ai state by-election when he garnered 3,907 votes, defeating Jawah Gerang of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) who polled 2,053 votes.
10th of April 2009:
Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak announces a 28-member Cabinet with 25 ministries that saw eight ministers dropped and seven new faces appointed. Najib’s Cabinet is slightly smaller than his predecessor’s 32 ministers and 27 ministries.
11th of April 2009:

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak arrived home today from Pattaya, Thailand after the 14th Asean Summit was cut short by political unrest. The summit with the theme "Facing Global Challenges Together" was expected to be an important event for Asean and the dialogue partners in discussing current regional and international issues. Thailand declared an emergency in Pattaya after thousands of anti-government protestors converged onto the summit venue forcing it to be cancelled. These anti-government punks are only creating trouble to their own country with their irresponsible mess. Let's not go to a chaotic country like this.
