URBAN DARKSIDE

(Sound of disc being played.)

You plop in your living room feeling ecstasy
Watching pornography
Over your new pirated CD
And when you still can’t get enough
You start stealing your neighbor’s lingerie

Skinny little girls in tight tiny shirts
Bouncing up and down flapping short skimpy skirts
Looking for guys into quick easy flirts
Screaming out being raped (Girl screaming.)
Only when it really hurts

Nara is all alone
Nara gets himself stoned
Sharing with his dog a bone
Cause he hasn’t got any dough
So Nara starts thrashing the pay phone

(School bell ringing.)

‘Good morning, Mr. VC,
Looking good now, I see.
So how’s your night with Ali
You gave him an A for his activity?’

(Chuckling wickedly.)

‘Only I came to say
I am leaving college today
Cause your system sucks
And I’m already out of bucks.’

A pair of feet are off the ground
Kids kicked her around (Children jeering.)
Teachers hated her gut
Called her a slut
Mei is hanging in the hut.

C-D Doll/ah is teetering down the street. (Whistles and cat calls.)
Bumping fake boobs into every guy s/he meets
Happy from the heat
Not skipping a beat
S/he tries to make ends meet

Mama is so mean
She beats her man black and blue. (Bruce Lee’s battle cry.)
Amy watches the scene
While sniffing on her glue.

Chen drops out of school
Cause Chen wasn’t cool.
So Chen joins a gang.
They hit the banks with a bang. (Banging sound.)

(Sound of rocking chair creaking.)

Mother used to say
‘Life is like sailing in the seas
You go rocking in the waves
Until it’s time to rest in peace’ (Someone saying amen.)

‘You think life’s all about fun?
Try to fit into my shoes, son.
Working in the hot sun
Eating cold dirt bun
Saving for your college fund…I knew I should have become a nun.’

(Car screeching and someone screaming.)

You go out driving to Shell
Screaming like hell.
You roll down the window spraying bullet shells, (Sound of gun shots.)
cause your girl’s run away with an Indon
and your mind keeps hearing wedding bells.

(Singing chorus.)

Where’s my Red Levi’s?
Where’s my lucky dice?
Where’s my chicken rice?
Where’s my paradise?
